APINAT®: THE NATURAL CHOICE
APINAT® series bioplastics are the result of constant research and development at API Spa, the leading Italian
producer of thermoplastic compounds.
APINAT® bioplastics are biodegradable in an aerobic conditions in line with EN 13432, EN 14995 and ASTM
APINAT® holds an international patent for its flexibility and softness, properties that make it unique in comparison
with every other bioplastics available.
API has an increasing commitment in developing products which make a significant contribution to reducing CO2
emissions and the greenhouse effect. This dedication has also led to the development of the APINAT series of
bioplastics derived from renewable raw materials.

Located in Miami, Florida, Beta Analytic Inc. provides ASTM D6866 and CEN/TS 16137 biobased content testing to
manufacturers and researchers. ASTM D6866 is a standard method that has been incorporated in several
certification programs including the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s BioPreferred Program, Vincotte’s OK Biobased
Program, and DIN Certco's DIN-Geprüft Biobased certification, among others.
CEN/TS 16137 is a technical specification used in Europe to measure the biobased carbon content of plastics and
other carbon-containing polymers.
ISO 17025-accredited Beta Analytic has offices and representatives in North Sydney, Australia; Sao Paulo, Brazil;
Beijing, China; New Delhi, India; Nagoya, Japan; and London, UK.
Braskem is the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas and global leader in biopolymers. With 35
industrial plants in Brazil, the United States and Germany, Braskem produces over 16 million tons of thermoplastic
resins and other petrochemical products per year. The company’s 2020 vision is “to be the world leader in
sustainable chemistry, innovating to better serve the people.”
Since it was founded in 1983, EREMA Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH has specialised in the
development and production of plastics recycling systems and technologies for the plastics processing industry.
Not only numerous patents and particularly energy-saving and environmentally-friendly systems but also premium
quality and maximum customer focus form the basis for lasting, international success.
• Plastics recycling systems for standard applications and production waste and for heavily
printed/contaminated post-consumer waste
• FDA approved PET recycling systems, efsa approval requested via customers (e.g. bottle-to-bottle
• Inline PET applications (e.g. fibres, films and strapping)
• Fully-automatic self-cleaning melt filters
• Pelletizing systems
The NNFCC is the UK’s National Centre for Biorenewable Energy, Fuels and Materials. Set up by the Government
in 2003 to look at non-food uses for crops, we maintain a strong working relationship with several Government
departments but have evolved to become an industry-leading technical consultancy with expertise ranging from
feedstock sustainability appraisal and future market analysis through to end-of-life options for renewable materials,
like bioplastics. We work with some of the world’s biggest organisations to solve complex business challenges.
Since 1989 Novamont, pioneers in the bioplastics sector, have invested over 100 million euro in developing a wide
range of products made from renewable vegetable components, for applications for the environment, industry and
agriculture. Constantly committed to limiting environmental impact, Novamont is an internationally recognized
leader in this sector and a company that cares about the environment, ethics and culture and believes in the
development of an economically sustainable and competitive business on a large scale.
Novamont keeps the working team's pioneering passion intact, achieving new quality standards, safeguarding man
and the environment; today it is Europe's largest bioplastics producer.
